Closing Ceremony: Hilton Seoul

An archiving project, our collaboration with Hilton, started as the first project of the Closing Ceremony series. We archived Seoul's monumental hotel, which disappeared after 40 years of business from 1983 to 2022.
The project, Closing Ceremony, is about archiving city heritage. Unlike others, we adopted an artistic method to spotlight the memories in the heritage rather than other interests and backgrounds.
The book was published to accompany the archiving results, which included 51 paintings, 44 graphic patterns, and stories after research, interviews, and a three-month stay at the hotel before closing.
Book design is focused on giving the experience of walking around the hotel by turning pages at different times and spaces.

Awarded the 2024 Best Book Design in Korea, organized by Seoul International Book Fair.
